How it works

One real share, one token — always

Every tokenized stock on PayBit is backed 1:1 by a real share held with a regulated custodian. Here's the full flow.

2. Custodian segregatesThe share is locked at BNY Mellon / Euroclear in a bankruptcy-remote trust.
3. Token minted 1:1An on-chain tAAPL token is minted to your PayBit wallet, transferable 24/7.
4. Dividend arrivesCash dividend is automatically converted to USDC and streamed to your wallet.
5. Redeem anytimeBurn the token, broker sells the share, you receive fiat — T+1 settlement.

FAQ

Tokenized stocks, explained

Do I own the real share?

Yes — economically. The share is registered in trust for you at BNY Mellon or Euroclear. You hold a 1:1 token representing that claim and can redeem to the underlying at any time.

Can I vote my shares?

Yes. Pass-through voting is available for all S&P 500 names — vote on-chain and PayBit's transfer agent submits your ballot to the registrar.

What are the fees?

0.05% per trade, zero custody fee, zero dividend fee. Redeeming to fiat carries only standard withdrawal costs.

Is this available in the US?

Not currently. Tokenized equities are restricted in the US, Canada, Mainland China, Japan and a handful of other jurisdictions. PayBit enforces eligibility during KYC.

What happens during a stock split?

Tokens are split programmatically at the same ratio on the ex-date. No action required on your side.

How are dividends taxed?

Dividends are a taxable event in most jurisdictions. PayBit produces a yearly 1042-S / CRS statement for easy reporting.

Risk disclosure. Tokenized equities are investment products; their value can go up as well as down and you may lose some or all of your investment. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Eligibility is restricted by jurisdiction. Read the full product disclosure at paybit.com/legal/equities before trading.
