Five layers of defence —
so you never have to think about it

We designed PayBit Wallet assuming the worst: your phone will be lost, your email will be compromised, your seed phrase will end up in a screenshot. Every feature exists because one of those things really did happen to a user — and we made sure it never costs them their assets again.

Layer 1 — MPC split-key signing

Your key is never reassembled. Transactions are signed by 2-of-3 encrypted shards using threshold ECDSA.

Layer 2 — Secure enclave

On-device shard is sealed inside Apple Secure Enclave / Android StrongBox / TPM 2.0 — hardware-rooted.

Layer 3 — Social recovery guardians

Configurable 3/5, 4/7 or 5/9 thresholds. Guardians never see your funds — only sign off on recovery.

Layer 4 — Simulation firewall

Every transaction is simulated against a forked mainnet and scored by our phishing-detection ML model before you sign.

Layer 5 — Hardware wallet fallback

Pair Ledger, Trezor, Keystone or GridPlus in one tap. Cold-storage-grade signing for transactions over your personal threshold.

Yes — 100%. Your MPC shards are generated on your device and in your trusted backup locations (Secure Enclave, iCloud Keychain, your chosen guardians). PayBit servers hold one encrypted shard that cannot sign a transaction alone. We literally cannot move your funds.
Open PayBit on a new device, tap "Recover", and approve via any 2 of your social-recovery guardians. Full access restored in under 5 minutes. If you also lost access to guardians, a 48-hour time-locked recovery is available via your linked email + hardware wallet.
Yes, natively and non-custodially. We support BTC Taproot (P2TR), SegWit, Legacy, plus Lightning Network, Runes and Ordinals. BTC is never wrapped — you send and receive on-chain Bitcoin directly.
The exchange account is custodial — ideal for fiat on-ramping and pro trading. The Wallet is self-custody — ideal for long-term holding and dApps. They are linked in-app so you can move assets between them in one tap, but each has its own keys.
Yes. Mobile apps, browser extension, SDK and the MPC server code are Apache-2.0 on github.com/paybit. You can build the app yourself, audit the exact binaries, or fork it.
The wallet is free. We charge a 0.15% aggregator fee on swaps — often still cheaper than the gross price on a single DEX, because we route for best execution. No subscription, no wallet-holding fee, no locked features.
Absolutely. You can import a 12/24-word BIP-39 phrase, a private key, a JSON keystore, or pair a hardware wallet. You can also migrate to MPC at any time while keeping your existing addresses.
